TIC – The Industrial Company provides direct-hire construction services to traditional industrial markets across the United States. The same mission the original company had when it began more than 35 years ago. Those markets include power, mining/minerals, oil, gas and chemical, renewable energy, general services and maintenance, substation installations/high voltage testing for the chemical, power and refinery industries and marine/heavy civil and fabrication. TIC provides specialized services through its T. E. Ibberson Company district, whose experience expands over 130 years, specializing in design/build slip form installations and grain handling systems throughout the world.
TIC was awarded the contract for the rail car unloading facility including conveyor, feeder and stacking tube to tie into existing coal handling system.
TIC was the general contractor for Kennecott’s 4th Line Expansion Project,including the installation of one of the largest mills in the world. TIC performed civil, mechanical, structural steel and piping scopes. Principal areas of construction included grinding, building concrete and mill erection, coarse ore reclaim mechanical, flotation and moly plant mechanical and piping, refinery, filter plant and conveyors.
The project is located adjacent to the existing Antelope Station, Elk Station Unit 1, Elk Switchyard and the Sharyland switchyard transmission line. Project scope includes engineering, procurement, construction and start up of two 190-megawatt simple-cycle gas combustion turbine electrical generation facilities. The power plant will use two General Electric 7FA.05 combustion turbine generators.
TIC was awarded the contract for the in-pit crushing and conveying system.
TIC was awarded the contract for the M&P and E&I work at an existing 28,000 TPD molybdenum mine that was brought back into production. Scope of work included demolition of existing structures, refurbishment of the primary and secondary crushing facilities, and construction of new facilities including a new mill and concentrator, ore storage and material handling systems, and a new main substation.
TIC was the general contractor for the repowering of the Gannon Station,incorporating a 3 x 1 combined cycle unit and a second unit consisting of a 4 x 1 combined cycle configuration totaling more than 1,750 MW.
Located in Magna, Utah, TIC has completed some of the largest capital projects including a $30 Million modernization program and continues to provide general maintenance and services.
TIC was awarded the contract for the construction of a 12,000 TPD gold ore crushing, milling, roasting and leaching facility.
TIC was the general contractor for the installation of 10.5 miles of underground conveyor, 4.5 miles of above ground conveyor, and underground crusher installation. This was the world’s longest single-flight conveyance system at the time of installation.
TIC was the EPC contractor for the construction of Tenneco’s (Solvay Minerals) Soda Ash Expansion project for Kvaerner Davy (Davy McKee) Corporation.
